Process Server Salary Canada

A grounded guide to contractor payouts and the factors that shape process-server income in Canada.

There is no fixed salary

People searching process server salary Canada often want one annual number. Our process servers work as independent contractors who choose individual jobs, so there is no fixed salary or guaranteed weekly volume. A person’s total depends on offers in their area, their fee settings, job mix, schedule, travel and accepted work.

An offer displays the server’s payout before they accept. That amount is a better starting point than a general salary estimate because it reflects the job and the server’s own eligible fees.

What makes up a payout

The routine fee is set by the server within the current province band. Eligible add-ons can add to the payout at the server’s own rates. The platform’s separate $35 Service fee is charged to the client, not subtracted from the server’s payout. Client tax is also separate from the server amount.

Rates differ across provinces and can change when the live pricing configuration changes. Use the amount displayed on the specific offer rather than an old article or a client-facing total.

Think in job counts, not promises

As one illustration, six routine Ontario examples at about $85 each total $510 in payout. A weekly total around $1,000 could require roughly ten to twelve jobs, depending on the mix of routine jobs and accepted add-ons. These are examples, not a guarantee. Actual availability, fees, time and costs vary.

For the complete table, different example mixes and practical tactics, see the guide to earn $500-$1,000 a week. It explains the difference between client charges and server payout.

Remember the costs and close process

Fuel, transit, parking, vehicle wear, a phone plan and supplies can reduce what remains after work. Contractors are responsible for their own income-tax reporting and should keep records and seek advice about allowable expenses. GST/HST registration rules use taxable supplies and have a small-supplier threshold; check current CRA guidance for your situation.

Payout is released after a job closes to a connected Canadian bank account through Stripe. Some jobs remain open through service, affidavit, review or issue steps. Transfer and bank processing vary, so no fixed payout timing is promised.
